What is your favorite mixed drinks? Would you rather get it in the bar or make your own? Either way its expensive.

Yeah, it is, which is one among many reasons why I don't have them often. Let's see...vodka and orange juice, or vodka and lemonade. Also Malaboo rum in pineapple juice. There were these shots I had once that tasted like grape Cool-Aid, but don't ask me what the heck was in them.

I prefer to make them myself but I don't hardly ever have them either. I guess my favorite is bacarty and coke. My roommate once made one that was coconut rum, pineapple juice and cranberry juice.. that was pretty good.

Still, making your own mixed drinks is a lot cheaper than getting them at a bar. I'm a beer guy myself, but one of my favorites is some Bailey's Irish cream, milk, and a couple ice cubes. It's great with a piece of cake, or any such desserts. You can also put a scoop or 2 of ice cream instead of milk, and have a Bailey's float, mmm.

Generally most hard liquor I prefer shots. But the float sounds really good, I'd wanta be smoking my pipe alongside that one ... a cigar would probably be too strong

For the winter a hot toddy goes down lovely and will warm you up down to your toes. Whiskey, about 2 to 3 shots depending on you, add some lemon juice to taste and sugar. Stir the whiskey, lemon and sugar mix then add boiling water. You want the total to be have the mix and half the boiling water. Stir a little more and sit back and get warmed both from the heat of the drink and the whiskey glow. *sigh*

Sounds great: A bit of cloves added to it only adds flavor ...

My favorites:

Grateful Dead, Green Meanie, Red-Headed Slut, Black Russian, Hot Toddy, Mojito, flavored Martinis.

Yeah, the float sounds delicious. I might try it for the New Year. Jack and coke is all right. I'm not really a fan of hard liquor. I like fruity drinks. I'm good with a tall glass of long island or Pomegranate Martini.

Hmm, what's in a red headed slut?

Even when I drank, I never got the point of mixed drinks with alcohol. The only exception was Hot Toddy, made with tea and wine and either honey or sugar, when I was sick. I usually preferred either wine or liquer. But I love fruit drinks, especially vergin strawberry Daiquiries. I stumbled across something called mocktails awhile ago and I'd love to try some.

Fine Wolf, Green Grape Glacier, Hot Not Toddy,, Hot Spiced Cider, Peach or Strawberry Julius, Sherbert Punch Shirley Temple (those I've had), Soda Shop Cola, Sundowner and Vienna Soother all sound delicious. I could really go for a Vienna Soother or a Hot Not Toddy, being that I love tea and coffee. Alot of the others not mentioned in my list used cramberry juice and I'm not too fond of that so am a bit hesitant about trying them.

My favorite is a sea breeze: grapefruit juice, cranberry juice, vodka, and a lime. It's even better with Absolut's grapefruit vodka.

for a long time i didn't drink at all. i've just gotten back in to it again. i like a cape codder which is cranberry juice and vodca. it's even better with cranberry gin and cranberry juice. last night i tried apple gin and cranberry juice. also a fuzzy navel peach schnaps and oj. i like crown and gingerale. i'm not a coke drinker. mocktails are like decaf coffee. both are a promise without the sex.

Post 19 by DRUM GODDESS (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Tuesday, 22-Feb-2011 17:54:45

Wow that float does sound good. I'm definitly trying that. I like captain and diet coke, hot dam is pretty good, and I love yager. Not yager bombs but just yager.

Post 21 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Wednesday, 30-Mar-2011 6:23:01

when I could drink, I loved Long Island iced tea. I also enjoyed grasshoppers and white Russians. Alabama slammers were awesome too.
no more drinking for me due to taking an anticonvulsant for seizures. Oh well, I suppose that makes me designated walker.

Is there a daquerie bottled drink out there that is already made? I love those things but have only drank them in a restaurant. Vodka seems to be more expensive lately so would like to try a new type of cocktail. I like the sweet or semi-sweet cocktails.

Post 26 by SilverLightning (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Wednesday, 30-Mar-2011 18:05:36

I have a lot of mixed drinks that I like, it depends on the occasion. If I'm laying by the pool or on the beach, I like a good rita, or daquery, maybe a colata. If I'm sitting at home though, I like a good smoky martini. I'm not a purest though, because I don't like them dry, I like sweeter martinis, sue me. A dirty martini can be good to, but the taste just doesn't sit with me most of the time. Other than that, ammoretto sours are a great any time drink, along with jack and coke, or rum and coke. If you want fun mixers though, irish carbombs and sake bombs are fun, or taking root beer schnops and a beer and slamming them.

What's in a sake bomb besides sake?

Post 28 by SilverLightning (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Thursday, 31-Mar-2011 3:18:38

Just sake and beer. Maybe its not entirely a mixed drink, but hey, its two liquids mixed together, so I count it.

Post 29 by Grace (I've now got the ggold prolific poster award! wahoo! well done to me!) on Thursday, 31-Mar-2011 5:15:03

oh!?? beer equals bomb??

i've heard of other beverage combinos that make for "bomb"

and
sake is made of, this i di nit know.. maybe soya juice,
?? like sake'o beverage?

Post 30 by SilverLightning (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Thursday, 31-Mar-2011 15:51:27

No, beer does not mean bomb. Irish carbombs, and sake bombs, are made with beer. Whereas jagar bombs, are made with red bull. Its just a name.
Sake is rice liquer. As for the rest of your post, I have no idea what you asked, so I can't answer you.
